A visit to pharmaceutical laboratories and interactions with Pharmacy teachers was arranged in Lisie College of Pharmacy for 80 Plus-two students from three Higher Secondary schools in Ernakulam on 17 th February 2023.

• Govt. VHSS, Chottanikkara.

Students visited laboratories of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutics. Faculty members explained them about various aspects of drug discovery, demonstrated methods adopted for synthesizing new chemical entities, extraction and separation of drugs from plant materials, pharmacological action of drugs etc. Live quality control testing of drugs and preparation of dosage forms were also shown to students.

Visit to the central store at the college helped students to understand about the storage and maintenance of pharmaceutical excipients, general chemicals, acids and inflammables chemicals.

The Sewage Treatment system in Lisie College of Pharmacy was also shown to the students to understand waste treatment process.
