Lisie College of Pharmacy and Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Kerala State Branch, organized “Pharmacy Practice Seminar and Workshop and Certificate Awarding Ceremony” of “Train the Trainers’ Program on patient counseling, on 23rd July, at Lisie Hospital training hall. The program was attended by about 64 working pharmacists. Dr.John Joseph, Professor Emeritus, Lisie College of Pharmacy & Hon.Secretary of IPA, Kerala State branch welcomed the gathering. First session was on“Pharmacovigilance& ADR Reporting by Pharmacists”presented by Ms. Antriya Annie Tom, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice,Nirmala College of Pharmacy, Muvattupuzha. This was followed by a workshop on “Basic Life Support’, handled by Dr. Shajeer K.P, Head of Department of Emergency Medicine, Lisie Hospital, Ernakulam. The steps of CPR were demonstrated in an explicit manner. Various methods of handling chocking conditions and many practical tips on life support were also explained. In the post lunch session, Dr.P.K. Sreekumar, Former Deputy Drug Controller of Kerala, presented a talk on“ Regulatory Updates for Community Pharmacies”. Last session of the day was delivered by Dr. Manju C.S, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Govt. Medical College. Kozhikode. The topic was “A Way
Forward: Patient Counselling Services”. The “Certificate Awarding Ceremony” to the resource persons and participants of “Train the Trainers” Program was held at 2 pm. Dr Jinu Isaac, Principal, Lisie College of Pharmacy delivered welcome address. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. P Jayasekhar, President IPA Kerala State branch. Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. (Dr).Paul Karedan, Director & Chief Executive Trustee, Lisie Medical and Educational Institutions, officially inaugurated the “Certificate Awarding Ceremony” and
presented merit awards and certificates to the resource persons and participants of ‘Train the Trainer’s Program’.
