World Brain Tumour Day is observed every year on 8 th June with an aim to
educate people about brain tumours. It also pays tribute to brain tumour
patients, their families, healthcare professionals and caregivers who are
involved in caring for people with the medical condition.
Department of Neurosurgery, Lisie Hospital and Lisie College of Pharmacy
jointly organized an awareness talk on 08/06/2022 at 3:00 pm – 4:00pm in the
Seminar Hall, Lisie College of Pharmacy. The programme started with a prayer
song by the students of D.Pharm 2019. Mrs Keerthy Ranganadhan, Lecturer,
Lisie College of Pharmacy, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Prithvi Varghese,
Senior Consultant, Department of Neurosurgery, Lisie Hospital, gave a talk on
the topic- “Brain Tumour and its Pharmacology”. He gave an insight into the
different types of brain tumour, signs & symptoms associated with the disease,
various diagnostic approaches available and medicines which are commonly
used for the treatment and management of the same. The programme concluded
with a vote of thanks by Sabitha Jabbar, student of D.Pharm 2019.
